The word itself may have come from "lolly" (tongue) and "pop" (slap).

after a race horse called Lolly Pop.

Soap Bubble Day - July 18

Just pure fun, blowing or making soap bubbles.
Here's a few recipes for homemade bubble soap.
11 cups Water

4 cups Ajax, Dawn, or Joy dish soap (anti-bacterial works best)
1 cup corn syrup
 or
1/2 cup of dishwashing liquid
2 cups of water
2 teaspoons of sugar
or
substitute a few drops of glycerin for the sugars. (corn syrup, sugar).
Add some food coloring for color.
Use a bubble blower or a ring of any size and use your hand movements to form bubbles.
